Mr. Elliott graduated from Indiana Central University (Univ. of Indianapolis) in 1981 with a B.S. in Earth / Space Science. After working in the business world for a few years, Mr. Elliott enrolled at Indiana University Southeast and earned his teaching certification in Secondary Science Education. In 1992 he earned his Masters Degree from Indiana University. This is Mr. Elliott's 30th year as a Science Teacher. In addition to teaching at Seymour Middle School, Mr. Elliott has taught at Nathaniel Scribner Jr. High School in New Albany, Indiana and Central Middle School in Columbus, Indiana. Mr. Elliott served as President of the Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc. (HASTI) in 2000. In 2001, he was the Chairman for the HASTI Convention. Since that time he has served as HASTI Exhibits Director ('02 -'03) and served in a similar capacity for the National Science Teachers Assoc. (NSTA) Area Convention held in Indianapolis in November 2004. He has also served as District IX Representative and Treasurer for HASTI. Mr. Elliott was named the 2000 Teacher of the Year at Seymour Middle School. During the '02 -'03 school year he participated in TICKIT (Teacher Institute About Curriculum Knowledge in Teaching) at Indiana University. In 1997 he was selected to participate in NEWMAST (NASA Educational Workshops for Middle and Secondary Teachers) at the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland Ohio. In addition to teaching 8th grade Science Mr. Elliott has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Ivy Tech Community College where he taught a course in Earth Science.
