Rules, Math Folder, Homework
Dear Parent or Guardian;
I am excited to be your child’s math teacher this year. It is my goal to create a classroom environment that affords challenges and success for all students. To accomplish this I will hold every student to high academic and behavioral standards. I have listed 5 rules below that are my expectations for each student to follow in order to have a successful and positive environment.
Math Class Rules
1. Talk only when given permission by the teacher.
2. All assignments are to be complete and turned in on time.
3. Be attentive, responsible, and show respect for everybody and everything in the classroom.
4. Be in your seat by the time class is to begin. Remain in your seat until given permission to get up.
5. Bring pencil, paper, textbook, and Agenda to class EVERYDAY.
All students will be required to maintain a math folder. The math folder will be a place for students to organize their thoughts and connect class lessons with assignments. The folder will need to be divided into two sections. There will be a designated section for graded and returned work (right side) and a designated section for current assignments and ongoing projects (left side). Each student is also required to keep a up-to-date record of their grade during each nine weeks. You should be able to look at that sheet at any point during the nine weeks and know your child’s grade. You can also check your child’s grade on STI which is accessible through the school’s website at www.scsc.k12.in.us.
Your child will have homework to complete each night. Skills and concepts are obtained from each lesson with each lesson building on the last. Therefore, it is important that your child strive to complete each homework assignment. Assignments should be written in their agenda each week, and I will also have it posted on this website.
