Kathy Beavers's Profile
Background on Mrs. Beavers: I started my career teaching at Northside Middle School in Columbus where my roles included being a coach, 8th grade science and HA teacher, department chairman, and dean of students. During this time, I also traveled nationally as an educational reform presenter to help corporations align curriculum, create enriched lessons and assessments mapped to state and national standards. From there I went to Salem Middle to be the assistant principal until I realized I was missing my son grow up. So, 8 years ago, I came back to Seymour where I have been an 8th grade teacher, former Titan and Challenger teacher. Personal Information: I am a graduate of Seymour and Indiana University. My high school sweetheart is my husband and we have one fantastic son. My adopted son is a Pomeranian named Jethro. We are a Scout family who enjoy outdoor activities like camping, shooting, hiking, and such. My reputation: I know what it takes to be successful in a high school science course. Therefore, it is my job to prepare you for this. I take my job very seriously but want to enjoy the journey. So, you should expect to work and think in my class. My former students have said, 'just do it her way and you will be fine.' 'She has high expectations but is willing to work with you to get there.'
